The Los Angeles Community College District is seeking a dynamic and motivated Adjunct Instructor to teach Sign Graphics/Screen Printing courses at our colleges for the 2025 Academic School Year.
About the PositionThis part-time faculty position is responsible for teaching Screen Printing courses in Sign Graphics, developing and assessing student learning outcomes, maintaining scheduled office hours, and participating in professional development activities.
Responsibilities- Teach Screen Printing courses in Sign Graphics over an academic year in accordance with established course outlines
- Participate in the development and assessment of student learning outcomes (SLO's)
- Maintain scheduled office hours for student contact
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge in the academic field
- Bachelor's degree and two years of full-time professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment; OR
- Associate's degree and six years of full-time professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment;
- A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of district faculty, staff, and students.
Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption.
Desirable Qualifications- Participation in professional and/or sign graphics/screen printing-related organizations;
- Recent experience (five to seven years) in screen printing;
- Expertise in and sensitivity to the issues of underprepared students at the community college;
- Ability to collaborate with other faculty in a multidisciplinary Design and Media Arts Pathway.
The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $85.09 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $19.91 per hour for classroom assignments.
