Lead Protection and Control Engineer

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems for distribution and high voltage substations.

As a Lead Protection & Control Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing the work of others, primarily protection and control schematics and wiring drawings for substation modifications and upgrades.

You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving substation protection and control issues.

Key responsibilities include reviewing protective relaying philosophies, selecting relay, control, and communications equipment, and performing independent reviews of work performed by others.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days a week in the office and two days of remote work.

Qualifications include a BSEE with a power systems or controls emphasis, 10 or more years of experience with protection / control / telecommunications for high voltage substations, and proficiency with MS Office applications.

Familiarity with design codes and standards, such as NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI, is also required.

Experience with various vendor protective relay equipment and excellent written and verbal communication skills are highly valued.

This position requires a strong understanding of electrical protection and control systems, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
