Job Summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Anesthesiology Department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, managing acute pain services, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the inpatient acute pain service, including performing consultations, coordinating with interdisciplinary services, and educating residents, students, and nurses.
  • Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens, utilizing multimodal analgesics, regional anesthesia, Ketamine and Lidocaine infusions, and implantable pain control devices for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities.
  • Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
  • Administer medications or treatments, perform minor surgery, and maintain accurate patient medical reports.
  • Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
  • Professional image and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
  • HIPAA compliance at all times.
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner licensure upon hire.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification upon hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
