Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hospitalist NP/PA to join our team at Opelousas General Hospital. As a Hospitalist NP/PA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice
  • Admit patients to the hospital and perform comprehensive physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., blood work, x-rays)
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options
  • Perform procedures as needed (within their scope of practice)
  • Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Discharge patients and plan for their follow-up care
  • Document medical records accurately and thoroughly
Requirements
  • Master's degree as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Preferred.
