Key Responsibilities

  • Support the surgeon during surgical procedures.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe surgical environment.
  • Prepare and demonstrate knowledge of all surgical equipment and supplies.
  • Operate sterilization equipment effectively.
  • Assist in implementing emergency protocols for unexpected patient or environmental issues.
  • Participate in cleaning, restocking, and turnover of surgical rooms.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of unit operations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or eligibility through grandfathering.
  • Preferred Certification: Certification as an Operating Room Technician within 12 months of completing an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
  • Required Certification: Healthcare Provider AHA CPR certification.
