As a Veterinary Pharmacy Technician, your primary responsibility will be to mix the finest ingredients to formulate top-tier medications for our beloved animal companions.
Work Schedule:
You will work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare prescriptions for the pharmacist's review and manage stock refills.
- Request medications and supplies under the pharmacist's guidance.
- Order, receive, and oversee the inventory of pharmaceuticals and chemicals, ensuring their safety.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, including pharmacy supplies and stock.
- Input data into the computer system, documenting prescriptions, purchase orders, stock requests, and disbursements.
- Under the pharmacist's supervision, remove expired or unnecessary medications from inventory for return or disposal.
- Perform general administrative tasks for the department.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess a High School Diploma or GED and hold a valid California State Pharmacy Technician License. Experience in a fast-paced environment is essential, along with a proven ability to adhere to specific protocols and procedures. Strong foundational math skills, including averages, percentages, and ratios, are also required.
Personal Attributes:
You are methodical and disciplined, thriving in structured environments. Attention to detail is paramount, and you take pride in delivering work with accuracy and precision. Punctuality and a positive, professional demeanor are essential.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 49 lbs. occasionally and stand for extended periods.
