ECMO Specialist Opportunity at UT Health Tyler

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse ECMO Specialist to join our newly developing ECMO program at UT Health Tyler. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing veno-venous (V-V), venoarterial (V-A) ECMO, Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR), and ECMO transport.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to critically ill patients, ensuring optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in research, education, and precepting as part of the program's development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ECMO specialist in a critical care setting.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
  • Succesful completion of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and have sucessfully completed the registry exammination for advanced level practitioners and be recognized as a Registered Respiratiry Therapist(RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care(NRBC).

Preferred qualifications include Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC) and Certified ECMO Specialist - Adult (CES-A) certification.
