ECMO Specialist Opportunity at UT Health Tyler

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ECMO Specialist to join our team at UT Health Tyler.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing veno-venous (V-V), venoarterial (V-A) ECMO, Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR), and ECMO transport.

The ECMO Specialist will function independently following standing ECMO orders and parameters while under the direction of the ECMO Physician and ECMO APP.

This role involves providing expert care to critically ill patients, ensuring optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage veno-venous (V-V) and venoarterial (V-A) ECMO circuits
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide expert care to critically ill patients
  • Ensure optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit
  • Participate in research, education, and precepting as part of the program's development
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ECMO specialist in a critical care setting
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC) and Certified ECMO Specialist (CES-A) certification preferred
