Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example in promoting environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Design and coordinate the integration of machinery and equipment into our manufacturing process, applying knowledge of engineering and programming principles.
  • Develop and edit CNC machine operating programs using computer-aided CAM software, leveraging expertise in programming languages and computer systems.
  • Create work holding solutions to manufacture components to print specifications using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Utilize Solidworks, MasterCAM, Esprit, or related software to drive manufacturing efficiency.
  • Participate in part print design reviews and contribute to ease of manufacture.
  • Determine the necessary parts, equipment, tools, and processes to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
  • Program CNC machines, set up machines, troubleshoot, and complete machine run-off as needed.
  • Conduct manufacturing capability studies of machined components to ensure consistent capability to produce parts as designed.
  • Operate manual tool room equipment and CNC mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Research equipment needs for manufacturing in-house components and provide feedback to management regarding equipment purchases.
  • Aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, redesigning existing systems to meet production goals.
  • Oversee installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
  • Mentor, train, and educate engineers and machinists in metal removal, fixture design, work holding, and programming.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work with multiple machinists to supply programs.
  • Contribute to the company's efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Embody the company's standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment, and a positive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with 4-7 years of experience (including CNC machining/programming experience); or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training.
  • May conduct user training and supervise junior engineers.
  • Contributes to moderately complex project aspects.
  • Work is independent and collaborative in nature.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Teamwork and the ability to cooperate and work proactively with others is essential.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education as deemed necessary by management.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, work under deadlines, and work in close quarters.
  • Great attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Self-motivated, willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed.
  • Ability to work, interact, and effectively communicate with all company officials, employees, vendors, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and work in accordance with our Permission to Play Values.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the normal work day.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
