About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Repairperson to join our team at the State of Indiana. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing journey-level preventive maintenance, repair, and minor construction on our federally supported facilities, equipment, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair various maintenance issues
  • Maintain service and maintenance records
  • Purchase required parts, tools, and supplies according to State policy
  • Repair buildings and structures
  • Assist with snow removal
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of various trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
  • Working knowledge of radio communications and procedures
  • Working knowledge of appropriate safety precautions needed for a variety of repairs
  • Ability to use a variety of automotive, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tools for routine maintenance and repair
  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records
  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to work independently and provide self-motivation
  • Ability to read and follow guidelines and blueprints to complete construction projects
  • Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation
