Job Summary

The Intervention Specialist position is a full-time opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, providing crisis intervention, and connecting individuals with appropriate services and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis counseling and support to individuals via telephone, IM chat, text message, and in-person
  • Offer comprehensive information and resource referrals to individuals in need
  • Perform safety and reassurance checks, and provide specialized follow-up care to individuals requiring short-term care coordination
  • Advocate and refer primary and secondary victims of crime, including sexual assault, physical abuse, and domestic violence
  • Participate in performance quality improvement (PQI) processes and use data to improve services and outcomes
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a human service-related field or one year of counseling or crisis intervention experience in lieu of degree
  • First responder or former First Responder with at least two years of experience
  • Established relationships with a diverse group of First Responder organizations, with an emphasis on individual First Responders
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort with diverse populations and flexibility
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Knowledge of Windows-based computer systems required
Working Conditions

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Operates computer and standard office equipment such as telephone and copier/printer. Minimal travel required. Determined by assigned schedule. 211 is open 365 days a year 24-hours a day. Employees are required to work holidays, evenings, and/or weekends; and during hurricanes and other times of disasters/critical incidents.
