Job Title: Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Loma Systems, a leading manufacturer of inspection equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industries. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our customers across the USA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to customer sites to perform equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations
  • Verify equipment operation and performance using certified test procedures
  • Document and report all service-related activities, including submitting electronic service reports and calibration reports
  • Promote sales of additional Loma product offerings, such as service contracts and spare parts kits
  • Provide timely feedback on equipment reliability and design
  • Maintain a satisfactory parts inventory and requisition additional parts as needed
  • Exercise safe working practices and procedures at all times
  • Conduct on-site training with customer personnel to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Participate in the rotation of weekend on-call duties and after-hours phone support
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; associate's degree from a technical school preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in field customer service work or 4 years of military experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment in the field
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics
  • Professional communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and manage difficult customer situations
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to travel extensively (80% or more) as required to service customers
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and environments that may be noisy, odorous, dusty, cold, and hot on a regular basis
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk, twist, bend, kneel, crawl, crouch, reach, climb, and work in awkward positions on a regular basis
