Job Summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Specialist to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs.
  • Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
  • Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

Requirements

  • Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
  • Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
  • CDL preferred. Must be willing to occasionally work on the road if needed.
  • This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free of major violations.
  • This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations, including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.
