We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to our patients.
Responsibilities- Comply with and enforce all state and federal regulations and HMH and site-specific policies and procedures relating to all aspects of pharmaceutical care and medication management.
- Review and verify all medications prior to dispensing from the pharmacy department, ensuring safe and effective utilization.
- Oversee the dispensing, chain of custody, and accountability of controlled dangerous substances.
- Adhere to USP 795, 797, and 800 standards for sterile and nonsterile compounding and hazardous drugs.
- Supervise ancillary personnel, including Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant/Couriers.
- Employ principles of safe medication best practices, as recommended by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices and Joint Commission.
- Identify patient needs and modify care to meet those needs, communicating effectively with patients, parents, and primary caregivers.
- Provide pharmacological information and participate in pharmacy clinical initiatives, including renal dose adjustments and antibiotic stewardship.
- Train pharmacy staff and residents in all areas of pharmacy practice.
- Complete network and departmental competencies, and licensing and certification requirements.
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, or equivalent, with a minimum of a BS degree in Pharmacy.
- Registered Pharmacist License.
