Pharmacy Intern PRN Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Research Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will have the opportunity to work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and gain valuable experience in filling medication orders, preparing routine compounds and solutions, and stocking and maintaining levels of supplies in the assigned work area.

Responsibilities

  • Fills medication orders and prepares routine compounds and solutions (sterile and non-sterile)
  • Prepackages medications and stocks and maintains levels of supplies in assigned work area
  • Prepares and files documents and other records
  • Operates computer and answers telephone/window as needed
  • Performs duties of a pharmacist in accordance with rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Pharmacy intern registration with the State Board of Pharmacy is Required within 3 months of hire
  • Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications
  • Neatness and Accuracy required
  • Six months of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred
