Job Summary

As a Commercial Property Assessor with Tyler Technologies, you will play a critical role in developing property and recording solutions for the public sector. Your expertise will be utilized to drive property assessments, tax billing, and collections, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site visits to commercial properties, gathering data on property characteristics, square footage, and other relevant details.
  • Verify property locations and measurements, utilizing maps and field documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Measure and record property dimensions, angles, and sketches, utilizing mathematical calculations to determine square footage and other relevant metrics.
  • Take high-quality digital images of properties, including specified parcel improvements, to support data collection and analysis.
  • Gather cost and sales information, recording data on field documents or devices as required.
  • Obtain income and expense information through verbal or written requests, updating data on property condition and grade.
  • Maintain personal production records, aligning with productivity targets and completing logs and control forms as required.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, representing Tyler Technologies and the client in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Investigate properties, asking probing questions to capture accurate property data and researching multiple components and related activities.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent work experience.
  • Real estate, property appraisal, or building construction experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and investigate data, and effectively ask fact-finding questions to draw sound conclusions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to capture and record accurate and comprehensive property details.
  • Ability to work independently or collaborate with team members.
  • Possess spatial abilities necessary to read maps and locate physical locations.
  • Ability to visualize floor plan footprints based on three-dimensional buildings.
  • Strong math skills, with the ability to calculate square footage, ratios, and similar functions.
  • Must be able to travel to properties in assigned project areas for most of the workday.
  • Must provide reliable transportation and carry personal liability insurance on the vehicle driven to perform the job.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee lives.
  • Basic computer experience preferred.
