Position Overview:
The Bureau of Reclamation is in search of a dedicated professional eager to leverage their skills as a Civil Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this role encompass:

  • Acting as a civil engineering expert, focusing on the design of civil structures and construction project features, including water conveyance systems, sewage systems, pumping stations, power generation facilities, irrigation systems, multi-purpose dams, and recreational structures.

Additionally, you will:

  • Develop civil engineering designs, technical specifications, cost assessments, and project drawings.
  • Prepare layout plans and finalize designs.
  • Review civil engineering components created by external firms and other offices.
  • Lead project teams or serve as a project manager for assigned design initiatives.

Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant design data based on site conditions.

Provide expert technical guidance to various offices regarding engineering plan development and design data collection.


Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status.
  • Suitability for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
  • Submission of a comprehensive resume and supporting documents.
  • Fulfillment of minimum educational and experience requirements.
  • Possession of a valid State Driver's License, as the role involves operating government vehicles.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, which includes:

  • A bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Completion of coursework in essential engineering sciences.

Additionally, candidates may qualify through a combination of education and relevant experience that demonstrates a solid understanding of engineering principles.

Experience Requirements:
Candidates should have experience working collaboratively on engineering projects, including:

  • Project initiation, planning, implementation, and closeout.

For higher-level qualifications, candidates must demonstrate independent project management capabilities and experience in reviewing engineering designs.

This position may involve telework options with supervisory approval and may include relocation incentives based on individual circumstances.

All candidates must be prepared to undergo a background investigation as part of the hiring process.
