POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering routine nursing care as per established protocols and under the guidance of the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator. The primary goal is to maintain the highest quality of resident care at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Exhibit patience, tact, a cheerful demeanor, and enthusiasm while interacting with residents at various maturity levels.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, and religious services, including transporting them as needed.
- Respond promptly to residents' call lights.
- Participate in in-service educational programs and on-the-job training as required.
- Assist residents with personal hygiene and grooming.
- Provide bathing assistance as assigned, encouraging self-care where appropriate.
- Adhere to infection control protocols as per facility policies.
- Document necessary information each shift related to the role of the CNA.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct in all interactions.
- Ensure consumer/resident rights are upheld at all times.
