Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Skookum. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, operating, and testing industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test industrial lighting equipment to identify electrical and mechanical issues
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently
  • Replace lamps and ballasts, clean lighting fixtures, and perform miscellaneous re-lamping repairs
  • Install and repair electrical systems, including outlets, circuit breakers, and sensors
  • Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, and maintenance manuals
  • Keep records of maintenance, work performed, and cost of work
  • Operate lift equipment and work at heights, ladders, and man lifts
  • Must be able to distinguish between different wire colors
  • Must be able to drive up to a 1-ton pickup truck with trailer
  • Must wear PPE as required
Requirements
  • 6 months of electrician experience
  • Experience in all areas of general contracting/maintenance
  • Must meet all North Carolina licensing requirements at a Master's or Journeyman's level Electrician or be willing to successfully enroll in an accredited apprenticeship program
  • First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain one
  • Must be willing to work outside normal working hours (back shift and weekends) with notice
  • Must be able to read and understand schematics and blueprints
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking
  • Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required
