Maintenance Technician Job Description

Fay Block Materials Inc is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing effective preventative and corrective maintenance activities on equipment, machinery, facilities, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and general maintenance on filtration systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical/electronic systems, and other equipment.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment necessary for completing tasks in a safe and productive manner, and test to ensure that all repairs have been successfully completed and all safety measures restored.
  • Install and replace equipment, including rigging, setting/leveling, anchoring, aligning, installing services, and testing to ensure that all repairs have been successfully completed and all safety measures implemented.
  • Maintain and clean work areas, including inspecting, maintaining, and cleaning tools and equipment, storage facilities, and personnel facilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping, including work orders, inspection logs, LOTO, confined space, and other relevant documentation.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers, follow all work processes and policies, and be an effective team member.
Requirements:
  • High School/GED (Associates degree in a technical specialty is a plus)
  • Valid driver's license (CDL license is a plus), and reliable transportation to work
  • Experience with various software products (Preventative Maintenance software experience is a plus)
  • Able to work at heights up to 80ft and in confined spaces as needed
  • Able to lift up to 75lbs and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment
  • Basic metal fabrication skills (welding, cutting, fitting, assembly, etc.) is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and diligently with minimal directions, to complete tasks on schedule
  • Effective communication skills with team members and supervisor
  • Ability to apply creativity to solve problems and contribute to the success of the team

Physical Requirements: Employees must possess the ability to perform the essential job functions successfully and safely within the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Employees must maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Employees are required to climb, kneel, and bend to operate and perform tasks. Prolonged periods of standing and walking are an essential function of the job. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
