About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Engineer to join our team at Kratos Turbine Technologies. As a key member of our engineering discipline, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of turbomachinery, rocket engine components, and product/process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptual design and optimization of turbomachinery performance cycles using NPSS and GatesCycle modeling codes.
  • Closely coordinate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) on design limits of components related to turbomachinery performance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified turbomachinery designs.
  • Document changes through a formal engineering change notification process.
  • Apply professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).

Requirements

  • Wide-ranging experience in turbomachinery performance analysis and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of NPSS and GatesCycle modeling codes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
