Job Overview

This part-time position at the YMCA of Greater Houston supports the delivery of high-quality youth development programs. The successful candidate will assist in creating a safe and inclusive environment for children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the well-being and safety of all children in the program at all times, adhering to state childcare licensing requirements and YMCA policy.
  • Program Implementation: Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate activities, including structured and unstructured play, as outlined in YMCA-approved curriculum.
  • Supervision: Work under the direction of the Site Lead, making sound decisions that align with YMCA and state standards.
Requirements
  • Age and Education: Be at least 18 years old, possessing a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience: Have at least six months of experience working with youth at a licensed facility, church, school, or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Hold current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training.
  • Skills: Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
Work Environment and Schedule
  • Primarily Indoor Environment: Spend most time indoors during after-school hours, with occasional outdoor exposure.
  • Part-time Schedule: Typically work Monday-Friday, afternoon shift 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm (start and end times may vary).
Compensation and Benefits
