About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Integrity Specialist to join our team at Sovah Health - Martinsville. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and evaluate revenue integrity operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Develop and implement systems to manage medical necessity denials and track loss leaders by service line, payer, and provider.
  • Document and track all RAC and payer audit requests, including maintaining databases to ensure timely compliance.
  • Manage the submission of records and respond to denials and appeals requests.
  • Share RAC findings with key stakeholders and coordinate appeals processes.
  • Log, notify, and scan government correspondence to ensure timely response and compliance.
  • Collaborate with departments to develop and document processes for clean automated billing of hospital claims.
  • Work with scheduling, registration, clinical departments, health information management, and business office to ensure staff receive necessary education and competency assessment.
  • Assist with SOX audits, insurance denial appeals, and patient charge concerns/complaints.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance within the revenue cycle.
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to resolve issues and refine processes to prevent future issues.
  • Stay informed of current healthcare-revenue cycle trends and regulatory changes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college education or 2 years' experience preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with hospital bill processing and insurance practices.
  • HCPC/CPT/UB04 experience, modifiers, Medicare APC's, and billing regulations required.
  • Experience in reimbursement analysis, good written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and interact positively with internal and external customers.
  • Skills in researching and resolving problems, issues, and ability to articulate audit findings.
  • Able to perform work duties with minimal supervision.
