Job Summary

CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). As a CVOR Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of cardiovascular surgeries, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain cardiovascular surgical equipment, including cardiopulmonary bypass machines and other specialized equipment.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of cardiovascular surgical equipment, including cardiopulmonary bypass machines and other specialized equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, including patient information, surgical techniques, and equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or National Certified Surgical Technologist (NCCT) certification.
  • 3 years of experience in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) or a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cardiopulmonary bypass machines and other specialized cardiovascular surgical equipment.
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to cross-train into general operating room (OR) if CV volumes are low.
