Electrical Estimating Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Estimating Director to lead our estimating team at Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimating process for various commercial electrical projects, managing a team of estimators, and collaborating with project management to ensure timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the electrical estimating process for projects of varying sizes and complexity, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors to drive business growth and opportunities.
  • Lead a team of estimators, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Review and approve change orders, ensuring they are properly documented and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates are completed on time and within budget, identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input on project planning and execution, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Continuously improve the estimating process, implementing best practices and industry trends to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years recent electrical estimating management experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Electrical Journeyman experience and construction practices, with a strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret plumbing and/or HVAC, architectural, civil, and structural plans and specifications related to electrical installation, ensuring accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to meet business objectives.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, PlanSwift, SureCount, Autodesk, and/or EBM, with a strong understanding of estimating software and systems.
  • Above-average analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
