We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients and perform nursing procedures within the scope of your education and demonstrated abilities.
Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care given.
- Assessment and Planning: Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care given, using the nursing plan of care in daily assignments.
- Admission, Discharge, and Transfer Procedures: Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
- Medication Administration: Safely and properly administer medications and treatments, following physician's orders and adhering to infection control and isolation procedures.
- Documentation: Document nursing care in all assigned patient records, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to internal controls.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prioritize patient care and address potential crises.
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse program and licensure/permit as a vocational nurse in the state of Texas.
- No experience required, but current BLS certification is necessary.
Occasional travel/floating, with no nights or weekends required.
SalaryActual salary commensurate with experience.
