Position Overview

The role of the Security Operations Center Dispatcher is crucial, ensuring the seamless flow of information from the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Control Rooms to Corporate Security Management. Operating 24/7, the SOC employs a comprehensive monitoring strategy to maintain broad visibility of activities across the organization, utilizing intelligence from various systems and technology databases to deliver prioritized actionable security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor alarms and CCTV systems
  • Conduct camera surveys
  • Manage incoming calls using an IP-based telephone system
  • Dispatch communications via multi-channel radio systems
  • Log radio communications and calls
  • Issue and collect incident reports
  • Provide operational support by routing call information to appropriate units
  • Ensure prompt and effective responses to incidents, alarms, and notifications
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from various stakeholders
  • Process and evaluate information from all sources, following appropriate dispatch procedures
  • Coordinate with SOC staff to provide necessary documentation for uniformed guard activities

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Licensing requirements may be applicable based on state and local regulations
  • Experience should include:
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to prepare reports
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency
  • Proficiency with advanced computer systems (hardware, software, and networks)
  • Effective communication skills with IT and Security Systems professionals
  • Experience operating radio and telephone equipment
  • Adaptability in a dynamic work environment, especially under pressure
