Job SummaryThe Mobile Care Services team at WakeMed handles over 19,500 ground transports annually, utilizing a fleet of 24 ambulances. As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will provide patient care and operate an ambulance as part of our critical and non-critical transport program. Your responsibilities will include documenting patient conditions, performing routine inspections and maintenance, and ensuring the proper operation of ambulance equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and operate an ambulance as part of the Medical Center's critical and non-critical transport program
- Document BLS patient conditions and care as needed
- Clean and maintain ambulance equipment and work area
- Perform routine daily inspections and preventive maintenance of ambulances
- 1 year of clinical experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- 1 year of experience in emergency vehicle operations (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certificate in Emergency Medical Science required or Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Science
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic or higher certification required
- Maintain vehicle operator insurability
3-12 hour shifts per week, with weekend and call requirements as needed
