Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students by delivering direct services, contributing to RTI efforts, and managing all relevant documentation. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including students, families, and educators, to provide exceptional speech and language services. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations to identify speech and language disorders affecting academic performance.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to create tailored treatment plans that meet each student's unique needs.
- Providing both direct and indirect speech and language services to identified students.
- Working alongside classroom teachers and interdisciplinary teams to foster students' speech and language development.
- Monitoring student progress through observations and data collection, allowing for timely adjustments to treatment plans.
- Implementing various service delivery models (e.g., push-in, pull-out) to optimize student progress.
- Actively engaging in school-based RTI initiatives.
- Maintaining open and regular communication with caregivers, providing updates and strategies to support continued growth at home.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school-based or pediatric environment.
- A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- A valid D.C. SLP license issued by the D.C. Department of Health, Board of Audiology and Speech Pathology.
