Job Title: Instructional Coach

Marklund Day School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Coach to join our team. As an Instructional Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting the Life Skills Programs, including the implementation and oversight of curriculum and assessment. You will be responsible for mentoring and coaching teaching and paraprofessional staff, as well as overseeing state testing and building-level assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and onboard new teachers to ensure a smooth transition into the school environment.
  • Assist teachers with administering local and state assessments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement IEP goals and track progress through our goal-tracking system.
  • Develop and maintain a curriculum scope and sequence for each grade level, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.
  • Assist teachers in implementing, modifying, differentiating, and adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide coaching and support to classroom teachers and day school staff to enhance their instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Support new students throughout the intake process, including tours, meetings with parents and districts, and coaching through the first week.
  • Collaborate with therapists to ensure the needs of students are being met and provide support as needed.
  • Assist with filling teacher vacancies and act as a substitute for teachers using sick personal time.
  • Accompany students on field trips and participate in physical restraint training as required.
  • Participate in the building leadership team and data reduction team to drive school-wide initiatives and improve student outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Professional Educators License (LBS1 PreK-21) required.
  • Experience working with students with multiple needs and autism preferred.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and meet its functional and environmental requirements.
