Automotive Parts Specialist

We are looking for an Automotive Parts Specialist to join our team at Hunter Truck in Lancaster, PA.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 7:30pm, with a competitive salary of $50,000 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive parts sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of parts.
About the Company
- Hunter Truck is a family-owned authorized dealer of Peterbilt trucks with a long-standing relationship with premium-quality truck producer, Peterbilt Motors.
- We operate locations across Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell parts to all customers over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.
- Assist customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, and expose them to the full product line.
- Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
- Provide high-level service to internal and external customers.
- Pull and fill orders from stock.
- Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders if necessary.
- Notify the service advisor and the customer when special-ordered parts have been received.
- Follow up on back-ordered parts.
- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization with valid ID.
- Ensure that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
- Ensure that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
- Issue credits for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice or its number is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
- Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
- Solicit assigned accounts by phone.
- Monitor open orders for pickup; clean the will-call shelf weekly of cancelled orders; ensure parts are restocked or returned promptly if not picked up.
- Keep the front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
- Clean computer terminals and printers daily.
- Participate in all training programs made available.
- Keep current on new products and product updates.
- Participate with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplace to reinforce the Hunter culture of a safe work environment.
