Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer - Critical Care Specialist to join our team at Methodist Hospital. As a critical care echocardiographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms in the critical care setting, including imaging of patients on mechanical circulatory support devices and high acuity complex cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiograms in the critical care setting, including imaging of patients on mechanical circulatory support devices and high acuity complex cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions.
  • Apply American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) Guidelines in the Management of patients with left ventricular assist devices and mechanical circulatory support.
  • Assist with critical thinking, assessment during procedure, and optimize image acquisition/recording.
  • Perform high-level disinfection using established policies and procedures as required.
  • Support the mission and vision of Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited cardiac sonography program.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a patient-care related allied health education program.
  • Minimum 5 years practicing as an echo/cardiac ultrasound sonographer.
  • Minimum 3 years practicing in a cardiac intensive care setting.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Fetal Echocardiography (RDMSFE).
