About the Position
The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure-ineligible Lecturer position in finance. This is a full-time General Faculty position that will commence with the Fall 2024 semester.
Key Responsibilities
- Course Development and Instruction: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance, including course development and instruction.
- Center for Investment and Finance Markets (CIFM) Support: The candidate will support and develop initiatives revolving around McIntire-affiliated student investment club, finance-related opportunities for second-year students, including Finance Academy and Careers in Finance, and CIFM's Professional Speaker Series.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: The individual will coordinate with various departments within McIntire, including Communications and Marketing, Advancement, Academic Advising, and Career Services.
- Student and Alumni Engagement: The candidate will facilitate connections and interactions between students, alumni, and financial professionals.
- CIFM Marketing and Outreach: The successful candidate will lead CIFM's marketing and outreach efforts, ensuring high standards and effective communication of center activities under the direction of the Center's academic director.

The McIntire School of Commerce is a college of the University of Virginia, one of the highest ranked public universities in the United States. The School awards a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, and Master of Science degrees in Accounting, Business Analytics, Commerce, Global Commerce, and the Management of Information Technology.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
- Applicants must have experience teaching finance courses in undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
- Experience in the Finance industry is strongly preferred.
- A strong applicant will have the ability to teach courses in the Finance discipline at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, an interest in engaging with financial professionals, and the interest in and potential to contribute as a leader at McIntire.
