Job Summary

As a State DOT Market Development Leader, you will lead technical engineering, quality assurance/control, and project management activities for MDOT and county design and construction projects. You will also support growth and development of the DOT market, serve as the client contact for multiple project managers, and deliver projects within budget, schedule, and contractual commitments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical engineering, quality assurance/control, and project management activities for MDOT and county design and construction projects
  • Support growth and development of the DOT market by creating statements of qualifications, proposals, and presentations
  • Serve as the client contact for multiple project managers and other DOT relationships
  • Deliver projects within budget, schedule, and contractual commitments
  • Negotiate change orders to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors
  • Work closely with relevant permitting agencies
  • Develop technical reports, feasibility studies, and engineering designs
  • Provide construction administration as needed
  • Lead, coordinate, and build client teams
  • Establish objectives and provide performance feedback for team members
  • Participate in recruiting activities by attending professional networking events and college career fairs
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Michigan
  • Minimum five years of experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Minimum five years of experience working in the civil engineering consulting industry
