Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Management Assistant to join our team at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As a key member of our Administrative Team, you will assist the Resident Engineer in performing various business management duties, including construction management assistance and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative activities in connection with the Resident Office, including preparing correspondence, maintaining contract files, and processing construction contract modifications.
  • Monitor accounting data to ensure expenditures stay within budget and detect variances.
  • Prepare a wide variety of documents, forms, and correspondence relative to contract changes and claims.
  • Process construction contract modifications for projects covering civil works and military projects.
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.

For GS-06: One year of Specialized experience includes performing procedural and administrative work in an office environment, preparing correspondence, maintaining contract files/records, processing construction contract modifications, and monitoring accounting data to stay within the budget.

For GS-07: One year of Specialized experience includes performing procedural and administrative work in an office environment, preparing correspondence, maintaining contract files/records, processing construction contract modifications, and performing many business management duties supporting the construction management operation.
