Key Responsibilities:
Diagnoses and manages the health of individuals with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health challenges. Oversees medical services for a designated patient group, formulates healthcare plans with specific, measurable objectives, and supervises their execution.

Engages in collaborative treatment planning, advocating for the medical needs of patients, and coordinating with families, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), Physician Assistants (PAs), and external medical specialists.

Provides leadership and guidance to the treatment team in addressing intricate medical concerns affecting patient health and wellness. Completes necessary medical documentation and reports, identifies trends, and proposes solutions. Offers medical assistance to employees injured during work-related activities.

Participates in departmental initiatives aimed at achieving compliance with regulatory agreements and standards.

Essential Functions:
Maintains regular attendance and may be required to adhere to specific shift schedules, including potential rotating shifts and overtime as per agency policies. Participates in on-call medical rotations.

Delivers and supervises the delivery of exemplary medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, adhering to established medical protocols. Diagnoses and treats patients with complex health needs, providing direction to the treatment team and ensuring the effective implementation of healthcare plans.

Monitors the long-term health status of patients, providing chronic care, including regular assessments and necessary adjustments to treatment plans. Prescribes medications and conducts medication reviews in accordance with professional licensure.

Documents significant trends and issues, providing actionable recommendations based on clinical expertise. Coordinates with specialty clinics to ensure comprehensive care.

Ensures the daily health and welfare of patients by providing acute care and overseeing the medical services rendered by other healthcare staff.

Participates in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing medical insights and evaluating treatment efficacy. Develops precise and timely documentation, including annual health summaries and treatment histories.

Collaborates with other medical department members to ensure adherence to compliance standards and assists in identifying areas for improvement in medical services.

Qualifications:
Must possess a medical degree from an accredited institution and be licensed to practice medicine in Texas. Current registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and a National Provider Identifier (NPI) are required.

Experience:
Preferred candidates will have experience in leadership roles, clinical practice, and residency training.

Additional Information:
