About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team at WestRock. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, as well as performing mechanical and electrical work under the general supervision of a Maintenance Technician III.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repairs, reassemble machinery.
  • Repair mechanical or electrical systems, including repairing or replacing malfunctioning components.
  • Repair industrial material handling equipment, including battery-operated and IC units.
  • Perform welding of structural steel assemblies and machine components.
  • Fabricate brackets, guards, devices, assemblies, and general construction.
  • Assist Maintenance Technician I with completing preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Install or replace meters, regulators, or related measuring control devices.
  • Install equipment or attachments as needed on machinery or related structures.
  • Understand mechanical drawings and determine the correct parts needed for repair.
  • Use computer software to document daily activity and submit accurate parts requests.
  • Direct and assist with training employees in the Industrial Technician I role.
  • Respond to mechanical or basic electrical emergencies during non-standard business hours.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Approximately two years of experience in either mechanical or electrical trade.
  • Developed basic skills in both mechanical and electrical trade.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
