We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Coverage Analyst to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our clinical research team, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive prospective reimbursement analyses on clinical research protocols to ensure accurate determinations of research patient care billing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of proposed clinical study budgets for research patient care vs. routine care determinations via a prospective reimbursement analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with the School of Medicine Institutional Review Board to ensure research patient care costs are identified and informed consents are consistent with clinical research protocols and commercial contracts if applicable.
  • Participate in the Research Patient Care Billing Training Program for clinical research personnel, including PI, data-managers, research nurses, and research pharmacy.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to clinical research personnel on protocol and budget development.
  • Educate and advise clinical research personnel on the planning and coordination of clinical research protocols.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive databases of prospective reimbursement analysis grids, protocol and informed consent reviews, and commercial contract budgets.
  • Serve as a liaison to external auditing activities by the federal government, the University's external auditor, or third-party insurers as related to research patient care billing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field required.
  • Medicare coverage determination or significant related experience may substitute for education.
  • Five years' experience in a clinical research environment.
  • Thorough understanding of research patient care vs. routine of care treatment.
  • Knowledge of clinical research protocol management and budgeting.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position with a standard Monday to Friday schedule.
  • Remote work arrangement available.

Classification

  • Exempt position.
  • Starting salary range: $62,900 - $110,100 annually.
