As a Physical Therapist on our ARU team, you will play a critical role in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients with a wide range of medical conditions.
Our ARU is a 16-bed CARF Accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility located within GW Hospital, and we hold specialty accreditation in the areas of stroke and amputation. Our professional rehab staff work alongside other healthcare professionals to enhance patients' functional recovery, facilitate successful discharges, and elevate patient care through unit and system-based quality initiatives, evidence-based research and practice, and true interdisciplinary care.
Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy services to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including stroke, amputation, and other neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on proper techniques and strategies for maintaining functional independence.
- Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
- Master's degree in physical therapy preferred.
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation setting required.
- Must have DC License before start of employment.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals by AHA or Red Cross.
