As a part of Oklahoma's largest not-for-profit health system, you will be integral in delivering exceptional care to patients. This role involves working alongside our skilled Nuclear Medicine team during daytime hours, ensuring that we meet the healthcare needs of our community.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the comprehensive execution of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. This includes adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and maintaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals based on patient interaction levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and order the necessary radiopharmaceuticals.
- Conduct complex nuclear medicine procedures and utilize computer systems to analyze patient data for accurate exam results.
- Maintain meticulous records to ensure departmental compliance with regulatory standards.
- Document patient results appropriately.
- Perform quality control on all nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and dose calibrators.
- Apply advanced mathematical calculations for radiopharmaceutical decay and biological half-lives.
- Drive mobile units to rural facilities as required for service delivery.
This position may involve exposure to low-level radiation and other health risks associated with nuclear medicine. The role requires effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and the ability to work beyond standard hours as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent.
- CPR certification required within a specified timeframe.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
