Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Align Precision. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements, and prepare itemized lists.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, and selecting vendors or subcontractors.
  • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data, and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Interface with other teams to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates.
  • Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and process to ensure historical data is utilized.
  • Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.
  • Provide recommendations to improve cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
  • Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:

  • An Associate's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 4+ years of experience working in a similar position at a manufacturing company.
  • Previous machining or relevant technical experience.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer Skills

The ideal candidate will be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and have experience with ERP systems.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
