Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans and assisting radiologists during invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT scans and assist radiologists during invasive procedures to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the radiology team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an ARRT-recognized education program or AART registered.
  • Advanced registry in CT required.
  • One year of staff technologist experience, with recent CT scan experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • History of computer usage experience required.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent use of hands and fingers to operate equipment and chart information. Sitting for up to 5 hours in 30-minute increments, standing and walking for up to 3 hours in 15-minute increments. Pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients up to 300 pounds with assistance. Occasional stooping, lifting, and raising arms above shoulder level. Lifting and moving of objects up to 30 pounds. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.

Potential On-the-Job Risks
  • Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
  • Continuous exposure to infection and/or contagious diseases when working with patients (risk minimized by adherence to universal precautions).
  • Potential risk for back injury due to lifting (risk minimized using body mechanics techniques according to the guidelines and in-services established by the Hospital Safety Officer).
  • Minimum to frequent exposure to ionizing radiation (risk minimized by adherence to State mandate radiation safety protection codes).
  • Minimal exposure to hazardous chemicals (risk minimized by adherence to Right-to-Know Laws).
  • Frequent exposure to electrical equipment (risk minimized by adherence to electrical safety procedures).
  • Frequent exposure to latex products.
  • Employees who work in patient care areas where they may have potential exposure to patients with suspected or proven tuberculosis (TB) must have the ability to wear a particulate respirator and be fit-tested in compliance with the current recommendations from the CDC (enforced by OSHA) or must provide physician documentation as to the inability to wear a particulate respirator.
