The MRI Technical Aide will be responsible for assisting in patient transport and inventory
supplies for restocking as necessary. The aide will assist with paperwork, calling for outside
films or test results, filing, and data entry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are
required. This position also requires the use and understanding of a PC. Medical Terminology is
required. Basic secretarial skills with the use of Microsoft Office software needed. The intent of
this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this
position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that
may be inherent in the position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Excels in effective and positive communications. Uses skills to bolster the organization/ department image. 2. Accurately completes the scheduling process according to the appropriate section policies and procedures. a. Collects and verifies all pertinent scheduling information from patient or physician office staff and enters information correctly into the computer or scheduling book. b. Reviews prep information with the person scheduling to assure the patient is properly prepared for their study. c. Appropriately schedules appointments to balance workloads between resources. 3. Contacts other facilities for outside films and reports. Updates RIS on film location. 4. Accurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available. Resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients. 5. Assists the technologists, nursing staff and Radiologists in the preparing the patient for the radiology exam. 6. Completes clerical functions including filing, reception, copying and faxing. Makes effective use of the telephone, fax and electronic mail systems. 7. Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate for their job responsibilities. 8. Demonstrates proper telephone techniques and etiquette. 9. Responsible for the success of the department to achieve patient satisfaction goal. Every patient should receive patient education and your personalized business card. 10. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information. 11. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements. 12. Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external). 13. Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. 14. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. 15. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. 16. Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.

PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Frequent use of fingers and hands to operate equipment and chart information. Sitting for up to 5 hours in 50 minute increments. Standing and walking for up to 3 hours in 15 minute increments. Pushing, pulling and lifting of patients up to 400 pounds with assistance. Occasional stooping, lifting and raising arms above shoulder level. Lifting and moving of objects of up to 30 pounds. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision. Must not have any metal implants or pacemaker, which would be a contraindication to work around the MRI magnet.
