Job Title: Multifamily-Development Associate

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multifamily-Development Associate to join our team at D.R. Horton, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to the direct development of assigned projects, including source and underwriting development opportunities, preparing pro-formas and financial projections, and conducting field investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and underwrite development opportunities to identify potential projects
  • Prepare pro-formas and financial projections to evaluate project viability
  • Conduct field investigations to gather market data and analyze competition
  • Manage zoning, entitlement, and permitting activities to ensure project compliance
  • Perform underwriting process to analyze market information and operational expense data
  • Establish project timeline and spending forecasts to ensure project delivery
  • Coordinate with construction personnel to meet budget and timing targets
  • Work with third-party consultants to develop construction plans and entitlements
  • Strategize with third-party property management companies to maximize returns during lease-up
  • Support the development team in running the disposition process, including preparing properties for sale and negotiating purchase and sale agreements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training
  • Proficient in advanced Excel financial modeling and Adobe
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered planner or engineer
  • Experience with multifamily municipalities and entitlements
