Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Arts Adjunct Instructor to join our team at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach part-time as an adjunct faculty member in the Pastry Arts program.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional content to students.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in Pastry Arts.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree in Baking and/or Pastry Arts or a related field.
  • At least two years of full-time experience in pastry techniques, including artisan breads, chocolate and sugar work, and show pieces.
  • Current ServSafe Certification.
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome applicants with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or Foodservice Management.
  • Considerable practical baking and pastry experience within the past five years.
  • Two years of recent, progressive, and direct supervisory experience in a baking and/or pastry business.
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience within the field.
