Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Actalent. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information.

• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
• Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy
• Packaging specimens for transport and storing specimen samples according to required temperatures

• 1+ years of experience in phlebotomy with hard sticks or oncology
• Able to process samples without training or assistance
• Experience with various patient demographics
