The Sanitation Specialist is tasked with the thorough cleaning and upkeep of designated areas, ensuring they are maintained in a hygienic, secure, and visually appealing manner, in line with established health protocols and facility guidelines as instructed by the supervisor. This role is essential in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation while delivering outstanding service to our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and protocols as outlined by the supervisor, including all assigned areas.
- Implement all Infection Control Procedures during cleaning tasks.
- Perform sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in all designated spaces.
- Conduct thorough cleaning from top to bottom, ensuring all areas are left in a safe and tidy condition.
- Regularly check and replenish all paper towel and soap dispensers as needed.
- Follow established protocols for handling soiled and clean laundry.
- Maintain janitorial closets and supply rooms in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
- Engage in all training sessions, meetings, and in-service activities as required.
- Report any maintenance needs or general concerns observed during cleaning duties.
- Assist in packing patient belongings during discharge processes.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned that are appropriate for the role.
Qualifications:
Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Licenses or Certifications: None required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in the safe and effective operation of all equipment utilized by the Environmental Services staff.
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or transport equipment and supplies throughout assigned areas, with occasional weights up to 50 pounds.
- Exemplary customer service skills, with a focus on respectful and courteous communication with staff, families, and residents.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
