Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest level of security and safety for personnel, property, and information.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect vehicles, and verify identification and authorization for all personnel.
  • Enforce rules, regulations, and directives as defined in post orders.
  • Perform patrol duties via foot, bike, or vehicle.
  • Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
  • Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
  • Respond to situations using the appropriate escalation of force up to and including armed response.
  • Maintain proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
  • Complete regularly scheduled training and certification requirements.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age (required to carry firearm).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass basic physical fitness test.
  • Ability to complete New Mexico Armed Guard Level 3 certification.
  • Ability to meet minimum standards with Glock 17 pistol and M4 style rifle.
  • Meet one of the following preferred requirements: two years of service in the United States Armed Services; three years of experience in physical security; Associate degree or higher in security related field; successful completion of an accredited police academy; or any combination of two years' experience in physical security and military service.
