Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to manage complex patient cases, including those requiring ACLS certification.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient care and safety.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, fostering a culture of compassion, respect, and open communication.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current IL RN license.
  • BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with agreement for nurses with less than 12 months of experience to enroll in BSN completion program.
  • Nurses with more than 12 months experience in direct patient care must possess a BSN or obtain either BSN or Advocate Aurora Health recognized nursing certification within one year of the date of hire or becoming eligible to sit for certification.
  • Current AHA CPR certification.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts to accommodate staffing needs.
  • Capacity to respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; use of patient handling equipment required for heavier lifts or patient assistance.
