Position Overview:

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supports physicians and delivers healthcare services to patients in various settings, including hospitals, private residences, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient conditions, collecting samples, and performing additional tasks as directed by registered nurses and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administers prescribed medications, provides injections and vaccinations, and interprets PPD results.
  • Conducts electrocardiograms (EKG) and other screening tests.
  • Collects and tests specimens according to established protocols, documenting results and taking appropriate actions for unexpected findings. Prepares specimens for transport as needed.
  • Manages patient telephone inquiries and involves providers when necessary.
  • Assists healthcare providers during surgical procedures, ensuring patient positioning, maintaining a sterile environment, and performing wound care.
  • Completes necessary documentation for patient visits.
  • Records and monitors patient vital signs as required, reporting any abnormal findings to the provider.
  • Ensures cleanliness, disinfection, and proper functioning of all instruments and equipment.
  • Maintains organization of medication storage areas.
  • Participates in the orientation of new team members.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of outpatient experience.
  • Completion of a Practical Nursing program is required.
